Poplarville Primary Results Finalized, General Election Set for June

The City of Poplarville has certified the final results of the 2025 Republican Municipal Primary Election, with several incumbents advancing to the General Election scheduled for June 3.
In the mayoral race, incumbent Mayor Louise Smith narrowly secured the Republican nomination with 195 votes, defeating challenger Glenn Bolin, who received 182.
In the alderman race, the top five Republican candidates moving on to the General Election are Brad Wells with 225 votes, Russell Miller with 209, incumbent Mayor Pro Tempore Byron L. Wells with 200, incumbent Bobby Nestle with 194, and incumbent Anne Gendusa Smith with 176.
The General Election will determine who fills the city’s five at-large alderman seats.
In-person absentee voting begins Monday, April 21, at Poplarville City Hall. Voting hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
