On Jan. 30 the Poplarville Fire Department got their long-awaited newly equipped firetruck. In 2022, the Poplarville Fire Department received $500,000 from the State of Mississippi to purchase this new fire truck. The new fire engine was ordered in June of 2022.
On Jan. 18, Fire Chief Jason Bannister and Deputy Chief Briggs saw the new fire engine firsthand in Sunbelt Fire in Fairhope, AL. While there, they conduct the final inspection as well as the layout for where tools and equipment will be mounted.
The Poplarville Fire Department now has two fully functioning fire engines.
