Published 4:12 pm Friday, December 22, 2023

The PRC Water Association has issued a precautionary boil water notice for residents in The Progress Area in Poplarville, including Millcreek Rd. and surrounding areas. The notice is a response to water service disruptions experienced by residents on December 20th and 21st, 2023, due to a line break.

As a safety measure, affected residents are advised to boil water for at least one minute before consumption. The precautionary measure is in place until further notice, pending the results of water samples that will be taken in the affected areas.

The water service interruptions on December 20th and 21st led to a complete lack of water or significantly reduced water pressure for residents in the specified locations. The PRC Water Association is actively addressing the issue and working to resolve the situation promptly.

Water samples will be collected and sent for testing to confirm the absence of contaminants. Once the results are available, the PRC Water Association will assess the situation and determine whether lifting the boil water notice is safe.
