The Pearl River County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division arrested a contract kitchen employee and multiple inmates after an investigation uncovered contraband distribution at the county jail.

For several weeks, investigators examined reports of a kitchen worker smuggling prohibited items to trustee inmates. Authorities identified the suspect as Stacey Sistrunk, 56, of Slidell, Louisiana.

Arrest warrants were issued for Sistrunk and inmate Talafarrow Keyes Sr., 45, of Gulfport, Mississippi, on charges of distributing contraband in a correctional facility. Early Saturday morning, March 8, investigators executed the warrants and searched the jail’s kitchen, taking both suspects into custody.

During the search, additional contraband was discovered in the possession of two other inmates—Kewane Latiker, 31, of Jackson, and Jeremy King, 33, of Biloxi. Arrest warrants were obtained for both men.

Sistrunk was booked into the Pearl River County Criminal Justice Facility as an inmate. The three trustees were removed from their status and transported back to the state prison system.

Sheriff David Allison stated that contraband smuggling would not be tolerated among employees or inmates.

“Each time we receive information about this behavior, it will be investigated,” Allison said, commending the narcotics division for their efforts in the case.

The investigation remains ongoing.
