Multiple Drug Arrests Made by Pearl River County Sheriff’s Office in Ongoing Narcotics Crackdown

The Pearl River County Sheriff’s Office made multiple drug-related arrests during the first two weeks of April following routine traffic stops and the execution of a search warrant.
On April 7, narcotics investigators made contact with Darryl Griffin, 35, of Carriere, at the intersection of Anchor Lake Road and Old Highway 11. He was found in possession of methamphetamine and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance.
Griffin had previously been arrested on April 1 at the McNeill Walking Track after deputies saw him loitering. During that incident, he was found with methamphetamine and suboxone and was charged with trespassing, disorderly conduct, and possession of a controlled substance.
On April 9, just after 2 a.m., a patrol deputy stopped an orange Jeep on Otis Stewart Road in Picayune. The driver, Shiela Odom, 53, of Picayune, had two bags of methamphetamine in the vehicle and was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
During the booking process at the Pearl River County Jail, deputies found another bag containing more than nine grams of methamphetamine concealed on her. Odom was additionally charged with possession in a correctional facility, careless driving, and a seatbelt violation.
Later that day, around 2 p.m., deputies executed a search warrant at Cory Ferrill’s, 37, home in Picayune. Investigators located five pounds of marijuana throughout the residence. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the setup suggested Ferrill was selling different strains from inside the home. He was charged with trafficking marijuana.
On April 11, around 1 p.m., investigators stopped a red Dodge Challenger on Shorty Burge Road near Hunt Road for a traffic violation. The driver, David Hight, 37, of Picayune, was found with a trafficking amount of methamphetamine and was taken to the county jail.
